Deformation Monitoring

(River Valley Edmonton, AB 2016)

From July 2016- October 2016, Keltic Geomatics was chosen to Monitor a section of the River Valley in Edmonton in an area extremely prone to landslides. We used a mixture of Robotic total station and GPS monitoring procedures to determine how much if any the slope monitoring points were moving.

As there was an excavation happening daily in the area immediately beneath the hill in question, there was great importance in collecting and processing the data in a very time sensitive fashion.

While we were on site, movement was detected in a few of the points and preventive measures were put in place before they caused any serious harm.
